3D ASSIGNMENT Idea

So, my idea is to incorporate geometric designs into a 3D assignment; using only geometric shapes. (Examples in attachments)

Any medium would work (within reach/reason, heck even pencils) it just has to be made into geometric shapes from other geometric shapes (such as triangles making a pyramid; but more complex than that of course).  It can be abstract or in the form of something like an animal, place, etc. etc. Very open ended... unless you want us to make something that has a theme or all of us do the same thing. Hot glue, tape, mesh, anything would work.  Quality is key of course; don't want it falling apart or anything.  Built onto a base, or just a free form (no 

base).  

PHOTO ASSIGNMENT Idea

I love vintage photography, and I think it would be cool for photo to mock a vintage photo, using photoshop to add dated effects.  Black/White, Sepia, Color, that aspect is open ended.

These are some pretty simple instructions above/a good example on the technique.  It can also be a story assignment, trying to express a dated photo or something that looks decrepit/old. An old car, an old sign, abandoned house, a park.... something with history and roots.  Following technical aspects including: good lighting (obvious it was that way when shooting and not just fixed in photoshop), rule of thirds, leading line, depth of field (focusing on the subject), nice bokeh (very low aperture), vintage effect, similar to actual vintage photo "look".  The band Boards of Canada has amazing examples of these qualities...

Their most recent music video Reach for The Dead  has really amazing imagery.  While using original "vintage" 8mm cameras; this video shows-off the technicalities behind video and photos of the time.  Plus it is an amazing song. (if people have never seen, or are not aware of the old photo look).  Looking into the past is fun, and I think if people really got into it they would learn something about where we have come from in the mode of video/photography.
